Naptec is a New York based manufacturer and supplier of premium disposable napkins and tableware, proudly designed and made in the USA across cocktail, luncheon, guest towel, and dinner napkin styles.

Founded on the idea that elegant table settings should not come with piles of laundry, Naptec crafts fabric-inspired disposables that look and feel like fine linen. Their in-house facility in Middletown, New York, handles both stock and fully custom orders, from foil stamping and embossing to full-color printing, across four distinct brands, serving hosts, restaurants, hotels, and event professionals worldwide.

Enabling Self-Service Product Customization

Automating Bulk Discount and Pricing Logic

Restructuring Navigation and Site Architecture

Creating Industry Discovery Pages

Project Overview

Codilar partnered with Naptec to transform their Shopify store from a basic catalog into a fully optimized, conversion-focused eCommerce experience. The engagement covered end-to-end Figma design and development, Shopify configuration, and a self-service napkin customization flow powered by QStomizer.

The work centered on three core goals: improving site navigation for new and returning buyers, enabling customers to customize napkins independently without contacting the Naptec team, and rolling out a scalable bulk pricing structure that automatically applies discounts at checkout based on order quantity.

Business Challenges

!

No self-service customization, forcing buyers to contact Naptec directly

!

Complex foil stamping constraints requiring vector-only, single-color uploads

!

No automated bulk pricing, making volume orders dependent on manual quoting

!

Poor navigation with no mega menu or structured product discovery

!

High drop-off rates from casual browsers unable to visualize the end product

!

No dedicated pages to guide buyers toward the right napkin for their industry or event

!

Slow decision cycle for bulk buyers due to the absence of transparent pricing tiers

Codilar's Solution Approach

Designed key storefront pages from scratch in Figma across all key pages

Built a mega menu grouping products by type and industry for faster discovery

Created a dedicated industry selector page for first-time buyers

Integrated QStomizer for real-time, self-service napkin customization with live logo preview

Configured separate logic for foil stamping and printing templates with appropriate upload restrictions

Implemented native Shopify bulk tier discounts without any third-party app dependency

Conducted post-launch CRO analysis to identify and fix remaining drop-off points

How Removing One Step Doubled Naptec's Conversions

A Brand With the Right Product, But the Wrong Journey

Naptec had a strong catalog and a clear target audience. Hospitality businesses, corporate gifting teams, and event planners all needed exactly what they were selling. But the path from first visit to purchase was full of unnecessary stops. Anyone wanting a customized napkin had to reach out to the Naptec team, wait for a response, and visualize the end result in their head. For a category where the design is the decision, this was a conversion killer.

Browsers were leaving before they ever saw what a finished napkin could look like with their brand on it. The navigation made discovery harder than it needed to be. There was no structured way to browse by industry or occasion. First-time visitors arrived and left without ever understanding the breadth of what Naptec offered. Every day, a curious buyer would hit a wall and have to stop to contact someone. That single roadblock was quietly costing Naptec sales, and removing it changed everything.

Rebuilding the Experience From the Ground Up

Codilar began by designing the entire storefront from scratch. With only rough concepts from the client, the team produced full Figma designs for every key page before writing a single line of code. The mega menu was architected to surface the right categories without overwhelming the visitor, a clean hierarchy organized by napkin type and industry.

The customization flow was the centerpiece of the engagement. After evaluating several apps against the client's specific requirements like budget, constraint control, and live preview, the team finalized QStomizer. Templates were configured for each napkin type. Foil-stamped napkins restricted users to approved colors and prompted for vector files with clear instructions. Printing templates gave users full creative freedom. With this, a buyer could upload their logo, see it placed on their chosen napkin, and add it to cart without a single email or call. The bulk discount tiers were implemented natively within Shopify, removing the need for manual quoting and making the pricing model transparent and frictionless for volume buyers.

Results That Reflected the Work

Total revenue grew from $6,137 to $11,060, indicating an 80% uplift. Orders increased from 57 to 99, a 74% rise. And conversion rate improved from 0.68% to 1.26%, an 85% improvement, confirming the gains came from a better experience, not just more traffic. The customization tool had started driving sales for customizable napkins in a way that hadn't been possible before. Buyers who would have bounced were now completing the journey.

A Conversion Engine Built on Clarity

Naptec's growth wasn't the result of a big marketing push or a surge in traffic. Sessions actually dipped slightly in the post-launch period. The revenue improvement came entirely from a better experience, one where the right buyer could find the right product, configure it with confidence, and check out without hassle.

The customization flow removed the single biggest barrier in the customer journey. The mega menu and industry selector reduced time-to-decision. And the bulk discount structure made large orders feel rewarding rather than complicated. Each change compounded. The conversion rate nearly doubled, and revenue followed. For Naptec, the outcome was a Shopify store that now works as a genuine sales channel, not just a catalog, for both their standard and customizable product lines.

If your store has the right product but the wrong journey, Codilar can help you fix it. We work with Shopify brands to remove the roadblocks that are quietly costing you sales, from experience design and customization flows to pricing logic and conversion optimization. Let's build something that works as hard as your product does.
