Modernizing Infrastructure
Automating Catalog Management
Synchronizing Product Data
Integrating Commerce Systems
Strengthening Platform Reliability
Enabling Proactive Monitoring
Project Overview
As 123Bain expanded its digital-first home improvement business, managing product data, infrastructure, and day-to-day commerce operations became increasingly complex. Manual workflows and disconnected systems made it difficult to maintain the speed and reliability needed for continued growth.
With AWS, real-time Adobe Commerce (Magento)-Pimcore integration, and intelligent automation, Codilar modernized 123Bain's commerce ecosystem. We built a scalable digital foundation that streamlined operations and supported the brand's next phase of growth.
Business Challenges
Legacy hosting infrastructure limited scalability and increased the risk of downtime
Manual catalog management slowed product updates and introduced data inconsistencies
Batch-based Adobe Commerce (Magento)-Pimcore synchronization delayed accurate product information across systems
Fragmented backup processes increased operational risk and recovery uncertainty
Limited monitoring capabilities delayed issue detection and incident response
Growing platform complexity created barriers to scalable and resilient commerce operations
Codilar's Solution Approach
Planned and executed a zero-downtime migration to AWS for a scalable cloud infrastructure
Built a custom Adobe Commerce (Magento)-Pimcore connector for near real-time product synchronization
Developed asynchronous REST APIs and RabbitMQ queues to automate data exchange
Centralized integration settings through a configurable mapping framework
Eliminated manual catalog touchpoints with intelligent product data workflows
Implemented 24/7 monitoring and alerting for proactive incident management
Strengthened business continuity with automated backups and AWS-aligned disaster recovery

The Tech & Cloud Infra Intervention For Operational Efficiency and Business Scale
A Platform Struggling to Keep Pace
123Bain had built a strong digital-first business in France's competitive home improvement market. The catalog was growing, orders were coming in, and the brand had earned a reputation for competitive pricing and a great shopping experience.
But behind the scenes, the infrastructure told a different story. Legacy hosting could not scale on demand, manual catalog updates slowed product launches and introduced errors, and batch-based data syncs between Pimcore and Adobe Commerce (Magento) created latency that the business could no longer afford. The foundation needed a complete rethink.
Seamless Migration to AWS Without Downtime
For a digital-first retailer with no physical showrooms, downtime is not just an inconvenience, it is lost revenue. The migration to AWS had to be executed without disrupting the business. A thorough environment assessment identified every risk before a single server was touched. EC2 instances were configured, networking and security groups were set up, and the cutover was executed during off-peak hours without the site going offline.
Once live on AWS, Varnish and Redis were layered in to handle caching and session management, keeping the experience fast and stable even under peak load.
Real-Time Integration: Pimcore and Adobe Commerce (Magento)
Manual catalog management had been one of 123Bain's biggest operational drains. Product updates were slow, data inconsistencies were common, and batch-based exports meant the storefront was rarely showing accurate information. A real-time connection between Pimcore and Adobe Commerce (Magento) was a necessity.
A custom integration framework was built using asynchronous REST endpoints and RabbitMQ queues. On the Pimcore side, producers enqueued published product and category IDs. On the Adobe Commerce (Magento) side, dedicated endpoints handled product creation, updates, attributes, and assets with built-in logging and notifications. Product data now flows between systems in under two minutes, with zero manual touchpoints.
24/7 Reliability with Proactive Monitoring
Keeping every system running, around the clock, a modernized infrastructure and a real-time data pipeline hold no value if the system can fail silently. The team needed confidence that issues would be caught and resolved before customers ever noticed. A 24/7 monitoring setup was put in place, tracking key server and service health metrics with alerting systems designed to escalate issues before they became full-blown problems.
Automated daily backups of all databases and media were pushed to Amazon S3, and AWS-aligned disaster recovery playbooks were defined to prepare for worst-case scenarios. With a clear 8-hour incident resolution SLA in place, the focus could finally shift from firefighting to growth.

Changes That Delivered Impact
The impact of the overhaul went well beyond technical improvements. Manual data entry was reduced by 90%, virtually eliminating the catalog errors and delays that had slowed the business for years. Product sync latency dropped from hours to under two minutes, meaning accurate product information reached customers faster than ever before.
Platform uptime stabilized at 99.9%, and onboarding 2,000 new SKUs went from a three-day effort to under four hours. The team had the agility to move at the speed the business demanded. With technical debt cleared and automation doing the heavy lifting, the focus could finally shift to growth.
From Technical Debt to a Platform Built for Seamless Digital Retail
123Bain now operates on a commerce foundation, matching the business's requirements. Product data flows in real time, the infrastructure scales on demand, and the team spends less time managing systems and more time driving growth.
For eCommerce brands carrying the weight of legacy infrastructure and manual workflows, the cost of inaction compounds quietly until it becomes impossible to ignore. The right technology foundation does not just solve today's problems but removes the barriers that stand between a growing business and its next phase of scale. That is exactly what was built here.
