Elevating Product Listing Page Performance
Integrating PowerListing
Unifying Product Data
Building a Native Mobile Application
Accelerating Search and Discovery
Enabling Cross-Selling and Upselling
Project Overview
Codilar partnered with Mom Store to fix what was quietly costing the brand its digital customers. With a catalog of over 85,000 products and a customer base that shops predominantly on mobile, the platform needed to be faster, smarter, and more intuitive at every layer.
The engagement spanned PowerListing integration for catalog-level speed, a unified Pimcore and Magento architecture for product data accuracy, a native mobile application with custom APIs, and enhanced cross-selling and upselling logic to drive order value. Every decision was made with one outcome in mind — a digital experience worthy of the Mom Store brand.
Business Challenges
A catalog of 85,000 products without a centralized PIM system created data accuracy and operational risks
Category and filter pages were loading between 4 to 6 seconds, driving drop-off on a mobile-first platform
Sort operations averaged 4 seconds per interaction, slowing the browse-to-purchase journey
The mobile application lacked the custom API layer needed for fast search and listing performance
No configurable or bundled product support meant cross-selling opportunities were being missed
Manual product information updates across the full catalog created inaccuracy risks at scale
The digital experience did not reflect the premium, trust-driven brand built across physical stores
Codilar's Solution Approach
Integrated PowerListing to bring filter and sort interactions from seconds to under one second
Implemented Pimcore as the central PIM backbone for accurate management of 85,000 products
Built a Pimcore queueing system for faster batch processing of product information updates
Developed custom mobile APIs optimized for mobile search and listing behavior
Built and launched a native mobile application for UAE mothers
Enabled configurable and bundled product support to expand offerings and increase order value
Implemented cross-selling and upselling logic to surface related products at the right moment

From Performance Enhancement to Complete Overhaul of Product Discovery Engine for Mom Store
The Weightage of Massive Catalog
Mom Store had spent years curating one of the most trusted product ranges for mothers and children in the UAE. Every stroller, every monitor, every piece of nursery furniture in that catalog had been chosen with intention. But online, that intention was getting lost before a customer could find what she was looking for.
With over 85,000 products across dozens of categories, the platform was carrying a catalog of real scale. And scale, without the right architecture underneath it, does not feel like abundance to the customer. It feels like a hassle. Pages loading too slowly. Filters that take too long to respond. Sort operations that make you wait. On a platform serving mothers who are time-poor by nature, every second of unnecessary delay was a reason to abandon the session.
The Root Cause Below the Surface
Magento's default layered navigation processes filter and sort operations at runtime. For a catalog approaching 85,000 products, that means every filter tap and every sort interaction triggers a database query of significant size. The experience was consistent with what that architecture produces at this scale — slow, and getting slower as the catalog grew.
We integrated PowerListing, our proprietary product listing solution built specifically for large-catalog Adobe Commerce environments. Rather than processing at runtime, PowerListing restructures how listing data is indexed so that filter and sort responses are served from pre-computed results. Category pages that had been loading between 4 and 6 seconds dropped to under 2 seconds. Filter interactions that had averaged 4 to 4.5 seconds came down to under one second. Sort operations followed. Combined filter and sort interactions, the most demanding browsing pattern, consistently loaded in under one second after integration. The catalog that had been slowing customers down became something they could actually move through.
The Invisible Issue Behind Every Product Page
Behind the storefront, a separate problem was making itself felt. Managing 85,000 products without a centralized product information management system meant that updates, accuracy checks, and catalog expansions required manual effort at a scale that was not sustainable. Inaccurate product data reaching customers was a risk that grew with every new SKU added.
We implemented Pimcore as the backbone of Mom Store's product information infrastructure, integrating it directly with the Magento frontend to create a single, reliable source of truth for the entire catalog. A queueing system was built within Pimcore to enable faster batch processing of product information updates, so that changes across hundreds or thousands of SKUs could be handled efficiently rather than one by one. Product information became accurate, timely, and manageable at the scale the business actually operated at.
The Gap Customers Experience Every Time
The Mom Store customer is mobile by necessity. She is browsing between feeds, checking product options during a naptime, or comparing strollers while waiting at a school gate. The platform needed to meet her where she was, not with a mobile-resized web session, but with an experience that felt built for the way she actually shops.
We built a native mobile application and developed a custom API layer optimized specifically for mobile search and listing behaviors. The APIs were not adapted from the existing web layer but engineered from the ground up for the interaction patterns of mobile users — faster responses, leaner payloads, and a browsing experience that reflected the speed and intuitiveness the Mom Store brand had always promised in store.
Turning a Large Catalog Into a Revenue Tool
A catalog of 85,000 products is also an upselling and cross-selling opportunity of significant scale, one that the platform had not been configured to exploit. We enabled configurable and bundled product support, allowing Mom Store to offer product combinations and personalized options that expanded the range of what a single purchase could look like. Related product logic was implemented to surface complementary items at the right moments in the customer journey, driving higher average order value without disrupting the experience.
For a brand whose customers are building out an entire ecosystem of products across the stages of motherhood, that capability was not a commercial add-on. It was a natural reflection of how Mom Store's customers actually shop.

The engagement delivered outcomes across every layer it touched. The browsing experience that had been losing mothers to slow load times became one of the fastest in the category. Partnering with us gave Mom Store what a catalog of 85,000 carefully chosen products had always deserved, a platform built to show it at its best. If your eCommerce experience is carrying a product range your customers cannot navigate fast enough, or a mobile experience that does not reflect the brand you have built offline, that gap is costing you more than a slow load time. We bring the platform depth, the proprietary tooling, and the commerce engineering to close it. The same transformation Mom Store went through is available to any brand ready to build a digital experience that matches the quality of what they sell.
